Podium is often the first platform local businesses see when they want more Google reviews. It does much more than reviews: it's a shared inbox for texts, calls and web chat, with payments, text marketing and an AI employee on top. That breadth is the point, and it's also why the bill starts at several hundred dollars a month.
Checked on October 19, 2026, against each vendor's public website. Disclosure: Revys is our product. It's on this list, in last place, and we're clear about what it doesn't do.
How we compared these tools
We used only public information from each vendor's own site, checked on October 19, 2026: pricing pages, plan details and product pages. No paid accounts, no invented ratings. Prices are in US dollars, before taxes and usage fees.
We split the alternatives in two groups, because people leave Podium for two different reasons:
- You like the all-in-one model but want a different fit (industry, agency resale, AI platform).
- You mostly used Podium for reviews and don't need texting, phones or payments.

What Podium does better than most alternatives
Credit where it's due. Podium does several things that review-only tools don't try to do.
- One inbox for every conversation. Texts, calls, web chat, Facebook, Instagram and Google messages in one place, with unlimited contacts, one-to-one texts and team members on every plan.
- Payments by text. Podium Payments lets you send a payment request in the conversation; Pro advertises lower processing fees.
- Phones. Podium Phones puts calls and texts on the same number, with call recordings, transcripts and missed-call automation. Seats are $30 per user a month (1-4 users).
- AI built in. Core includes review management with AI responses; Pro adds an AI concierge and an "AI Reputation Specialist"; the AI Employee add-on sells and schedules around the clock.
- Hands-on support. A dedicated customer success manager and one-on-one onboarding on every plan.
Watch the extras when you compare: Podium charges a $5 monthly 10DLC fee per US location for business texting, a $500 network optimization fee per location applies to Podium Phones, and Bulk Messages run on monthly credits (250 on Core, 500 on Pro).
If you want another all-in-one platform
1. Birdeye
Birdeye is the closest match in scope, aimed at multi-location brands. It groups reviews, listings, social, chatbot, scheduling, reminders, surveys and reporting into AI "coworkers." Its AI review agent replies in your brand voice and either posts or waits for approval. Pricing is by quote: the form asks how many locations you have, from 1-3 to 1,000+.
Choose it if you have many locations and want listings, reviews and front-desk automation from one vendor. More options in our Birdeye alternatives comparison.
2. HighLevel
HighLevel is a marketing and CRM platform built for agencies, who resell it as sub-accounts. Starter is $97 a month, Unlimited $297 and Agency Pro $497, with a 14-day free trial. Reputation management, SMS and email marketing, calling and payments are core features; AI reviews, texts, calls and emails are billed by usage on top.
Choose it if you're an agency that wants to offer a Podium-like bundle to clients under your own brand.
3. Weave
Weave is a phone, texting and payments platform for healthcare: dental, medical, optometry and veterinary practices. It includes reviews, reminders, scheduling and text-to-pay, and connects to practice management software. Its pricing page says plans start at $199 a month, with the exact price on request.
Choose it if you run a practice and want reviews tied to patient reminders and your phones.
If you mainly need reviews
4. NiceJob
NiceJob is built for home-service and trades businesses. Starter ($75 a month) sends review requests by SMS and email and adds review widgets and a reviews microsite. Pro ($125 a month) adds AI replies, referral campaigns, rebooking reminders and competitor tracking. No contract, 14-day trial.
Choose it if you want review requests and referrals to run after every job, without a full inbox.
5. GatherUp
GatherUp focuses on review requests and customer feedback. Small Business is $99 a month for one location; Multi Location is $60 per location for 2 to 10 locations. Every plan includes up to 300 SMS and 3,000 email credits per location a month, monitoring across 100+ sites, NPS, AI-crafted replies and review widgets. 14-day trial; annual billing saves 20%.
Choose it if you need review requests at volume, on several platforms, with clear per-location pricing.
6. BrightLocal
BrightLocal is a local SEO suite. Its Grow plan ($65 a month, or $49 a month billed annually, for one location) adds review monitoring, review requests by email, SMS and in-store campaigns, and a website review widget to rank tracking and listings tools. 14-day trial, no card.
Choose it if you want to work on your Google Maps rankings and your reviews in the same tool.
7. Revys (our product)
Revys covers one part of what Podium does: Google reviews. It connects to your Google Business Profiles through the official API, writes your reviews into your website's HTML, drafts AI replies in the tone you set, and scores each profile against 31 rules.
- Pricing: Free for one location (display and manual replies). Pro is $7.90 a month for the first location, $3.90 each for locations 2 to 20, then $2.20, or $79, $39 and $22 a year. No commitment on monthly plans; 14-day Pro trial with no card.
- Reviews AI crawlers can read: the WordPress plugin and the server-side include (Next.js, PHP and HTML) put the review text in your page's HTML. The JavaScript snippet works anywhere but isn't readable by AI crawlers. The methods are compared in how to embed Google reviews on your website.
- Replies under your control: by default, 1-3 star reviews wait for your approval. See AI review replies.
How to choose a Podium alternative
Start from what you actually used Podium for in the last three months.
- Texting customers, taking payments and answering calls every day: stay with Podium or compare Birdeye and, for healthcare, Weave.
- Selling a marketing bundle to your own clients: look at HighLevel.
- Mostly sending review requests after each job: NiceJob or GatherUp.
- Reviews plus Google Maps rankings: BrightLocal.
- Mostly answering Google reviews and showing them on your website: Revys.
- Check contract length and usage fees (texting, phone numbers, AI) before you compare monthly prices.
One rule applies to every tool here: none of them can get you star ratings in Google search for reviews you publish about yourself on your own site. Google treats those as self-serving reviews and doesn't show stars for them, even through a third-party widget. Your stars on Google Maps come from your Business Profile. More in review schema and Google stars.
Bottom line
Podium is a strong choice when texting, phones and payments are part of how you sell. If they aren't, you're paying for a lot you don't use. Birdeye, HighLevel and Weave keep the all-in-one model for different buyers; NiceJob, GatherUp and BrightLocal focus on reviews for less; Revys does the narrowest job, Google reviews on your site and answered, from $0.
