How to add Google reviews to Webflow (Code Embed, HTML or CMS)
Embed Google reviews on Webflow with a Code Embed element: as HTML (readable by Google and AI, 50,000-character cap) or a JavaScript widget that updates itself.

Search "webflow google reviews" and half the results are forum threads asking the same thing: is there a clean way to do this, ideally free? Webflow is actually one of the better platforms for it, because it publishes static HTML. Anything you paste as HTML stays in the page. Two limits shape your options: your plan and the size of the code.
What does Webflow give you for Google reviews?
The Code Embed element. Nothing native pulls in Google reviews. What Webflow says (checked October 19, 2026):
- Paid plan required: Webflow University states that "the Code Embed element requires a paid site plan or Workspace." It isn't available on a free Starter site.
- 50,000 characters per embed: the limit Webflow raised from 10,000 in May 2024, "available on all paid sites and workspaces."
- Renders where you put it: the embed sits on the canvas like any other element and "appears exactly where you add it." No forced iframe: pasted HTML becomes part of the published page.
- Scripts don't run in the Designer: a JavaScript widget only shows in preview or on the live site.
Which method should you use on Webflow?
Pick based on what matters more to you: AI-readable text or hands-off updates.
| Method | Readable by Google | Readable by AI crawlers | Auto-updates | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revys HTML in a Code Embed | Yes | Yes | No, re-paste | 50,000 characters (6–8 reviews) |
| Revys JavaScript snippet in a Code Embed | Partly, credited to revys.io | No | Yes | None in practice |
| CMS collection filled via Webflow's API (developer) | Yes | Yes | Yes | CMS plan, custom build |
| Reviews typed into text blocks | Yes | Yes | No | Tedious |
Our take: use the HTML on the homepage or the service page that matters most, with a monthly reminder to refresh it. Use the JavaScript snippet on a long "All reviews" page.
How do you paste Google reviews HTML into Webflow?
Set up the widget in Revys
Connect your Google Business Profile, then open "My businesses › your business › On my website": your widget is already there (a carousel). With "Change style", pick another layout if you like (grid, list, wall or badge). Cap the number of reviews at 6 to 8 to stay under Webflow's limit. The setting is “Max number of reviews”.
Generate the HTML
Click "Put on my website" and enter your site address: Revys recognizes Webflow (if it doesn't, pick "Webflow" under "Not right?") and shows the HTML to paste. Click "Generate the HTML" and copy the code.
Add a Code Embed
In the Designer, open the Add panel and drag a Code Embed element into the right section, container or grid cell.
Paste and save
Paste the HTML into the code editor and click Save & Close. If Webflow says the code is too long, lower the review count and regenerate.
Publish and check
Publish, open the live page's source (Ctrl+U) and search for a sentence from one review. It should be there.
For the auto-updating option, paste this line into a Code Embed instead:
<script src="https://revys.io/api/embed/YOUR_ID" async></script>
It refreshes nightly, but the review text stays inside an iframe loaded by the browser.
How many reviews fit in one Code Embed?
We measured the Revys HTML on a test widget: about 24,000 characters for structure, styling and markup, then roughly 3,000 per review of average length (330 characters of text). Six reviews come to about 42,000 characters; twelve top 60,000 and get rejected.
- 6 to 8 reviews per Code Embed, fewer if your reviews run long.
- The badge layout (rating and review count) fits in about 24,000 characters regardless of review count.
- Want more on screen? Put two embeds side by side with two widgets, or use the JavaScript snippet.
- Keep a realistic mix of ratings: a five-star-only wall is less convincing.
How do you get reviews that are readable and automatic?
Use the Webflow CMS with a bit of development. The idea: store your reviews as items in a collection, which Webflow publishes as static HTML just like blog posts.
- Create a "Reviews" collection (author, rating, text, date) and a Collection List on the page, styled in the Designer.
- A scheduled job (a script on your server, a serverless function) reads your reviews from the Revys API (Pro plan), then creates or updates items through Webflow's Data API.
- The job publishes them. Webflow's docs note that creating an item through the staged endpoints "always creates a draft," which then needs publishing (or you can create items directly as live).
It's the cleanest setup for agencies: 100% Webflow design, fresh reviews, text in the HTML. Revys doesn't provide that script; expect a few hours of development and a Webflow plan that includes the CMS.
What about schema markup?
The Revys HTML includes a JSON-LD LocalBusiness (or Organization) block that describes your business, with no aggregate rating. That's on purpose: Google won't show stars for reviews a business displays about itself, and its guidelines say not to aggregate ratings from other sites. If your Webflow pages already carry LocalBusiness markup in their custom code, make sure the two don't contradict each other (different names or addresses).

FAQ
Is there a free way to integrate Google reviews into Webflow?
Partly. Revys is free for one Google Business Profile and gives you both the HTML and the script. But Webflow's Code Embed element requires a paid Site plan or Workspace, so on a free Starter site your only option is typing reviews into text blocks by hand.
How do I embed Google reviews on Webflow?
Generate the code in your review tool, drag a Code Embed element onto the page in the Designer, paste the code, save and publish. Static HTML shows right away; a script only runs in preview and on the published site.
Why won't Webflow accept my reviews code?
Each Code Embed is capped at 50,000 characters. The Revys HTML is about 24,000 characters plus roughly 3,000 per average review, so lower the widget's maximum number of reviews or use the badge layout.
Can I put Google reviews in the Webflow CMS?
Yes, with a developer. A scheduled script can read your reviews from the Revys API and create or update items in a CMS collection through Webflow's Data API, then publish them. Webflow renders them as static HTML.
Are reviews on a Webflow site readable by ChatGPT?
If they're pasted as HTML or stored in the CMS, yes: the text is in the published page. A JavaScript widget or iframe isn't, because AI crawlers read HTML without running JavaScript.
Will Google reviews on my Webflow site get me stars in search?
No. Google doesn't show stars for reviews a business displays about itself on its own site (self-serving reviews). A local business gets its stars from its Google Business Profile.
