25 Positive Review Response Examples (by Situation and Industry)

25 positive review response examples for Google, by situation (first review, regulars, staff shout-outs, 4-star reviews) and by industry.

Published

A happy customer took the time to write. Replying takes a minute, as long as you don't paste the same line under every review. Here's a quick formula, then 25 positive review response examples organized by situation and by industry, with placeholders to swap: [Name], [detail], [team member].

How do you respond to a positive review?

Three parts, one to three sentences:

  1. Thank them, by first name if they show it.
  2. Mention the detail: what they liked, in your own words. That's the proof you read it.
  3. Give a next step: an invitation back, a nod to the team, something new to try.

Google's guidance boils down to the same idea: clear, short, helpful replies, no deals or promotions, and not the same generic thank-you everywhere. Use the examples below as starting points: keep the structure, change the words, add your detail.

What mistakes should you avoid in positive review replies?

  • Pasting the same sentence everywhere: half of the consumers BrightLocal surveyed in 2026 said generic responses put them off.
  • Adding a promo code, a deal or a sales link: Google asks businesses not to use replies for offers.
  • Thanking reviewers with a reward: Google prohibits incentives in exchange for reviews.
  • Revealing personal details: visit date, amount spent, address, and in healthcare, the fact that someone is a patient.
  • Writing an essay: one to three sentences is plenty for a positive review.
  • Stuffing in keywords: the reply should read naturally to the next customer.

Can you use AI to write positive review responses?

Yes, and positive reviews are where AI helps the most: there are a lot of them and the stakes are low. What matters is that it varies the wording and picks up the detail of each review instead of repeating the same thanks.

To try it, paste a review into our free AI review response generator. To automate it, Revys AI review replies (Pro plan) draft each reply in the tone you pick (friendly, professional, warm, formal or casual), with your signature and words to include or avoid. For 4- and 5-star reviews, you choose between approving each draft and auto-publishing after a delay (24 hours by default). Replies are written in the language of each review, English included.

FAQ

What is an example of a good response to a positive review?

"Thanks so much, Jenna! So glad the brisket lived up to the hype. It's back on the menu Friday if you want a repeat." It thanks the reviewer, picks up one specific detail and gives a reason to come back.

How do I thank someone for a Google review?

Reply directly under the review from your Business Profile: select Read reviews, then the Reply icon. Use their first name if they show it, mention what they liked, and keep it short. Google notifies them when your reply goes live.

Should I respond to every positive review?

It's worth it: in BrightLocal's 2026 survey, 80% of consumers said they're more likely to use a business that responds to all its reviews. For star-only reviews, a short, varied thank-you is enough.

Can I use the same template for every review?

Reuse the structure, not the sentence. Half of the consumers BrightLocal surveyed in 2026 said templated or generic responses make them unlikely to choose a business, and Google advises against repeating generic thanks.

How should a doctor or dentist respond to a positive review?

Without confirming that the reviewer is a patient and without mentioning their care. A general thank-you on behalf of the team is the safe reply under HIPAA.
